"On March 20, 2008, at precisely 1:48 A.M. EDT (March 20, 05:48 Universal Time), the Sun will cross directly over the Earth's equator. This moment is known as the vernal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere."
The word equinox derives from the Latin words aequus (equal) and nox (night). Because of the suns position, day and night are nearly equal in length all over the world during the equinoxes.
"Spring has returned. The Earth is like a child that knows poems."
~Rainer Maria Rilke

You should be asleep! I love the quote, and am so thankful that spring is well and truly here.
Happy Spring sprang sprung to you!
lovely post MiM.
Good stuff Denise! Xxx
Nothing is more welcome right now than this celebration of Spring!
Happy Spring to you too! It is my Jerome's B-Day, he is a harbinger of Spring! (well, not always :P)
Your Naturally dyed eggs turned out well, for all the handy, crafty stuff I do my easter eggs never turn out beautiful. I get rather impatient and always touch them before they finish drying so they often have finger smudges on them.
I love spring! The sunlight looks so pretty in that last photograph, and the Rilke quote is beautiful.
Happy Spring!
Happy Spring!
And I hope everyone is on the mend at your house today!
Winter is back down here... :-(
I love Rilke. :-)
