"The world is mud-luscious...and puddle-wonderful."
~E.E. Cummings
The strong winds and cold pouring rains of March are in full force - we venture out for some puddle and mud stomping and then retreat back into our warm cozy home, entertaining ourselves with books, crafting, baking, garden projects, storytelling, games, dancing and watching the rain on the windowpanes.
Mud season has arrived!

That is my favorite ee cummings quote - perfect for this post!
What a beautiful quote!
It's mudlicious and windy here, too.... and will be for 10 days or so, they say. :)
Oh my goodness those green rain coats are absolutely fabulous....fun times in rain, wind and above all mud.
Here is a great book that I love to read with my doodles & kinders:

Great quote! And yeas, it's windy and muddy in England too.
It looks like your boys are enjoying themselves despite the wind and mud. :)
Thanks for the quote. Hels is in love with ee cummings right now. I look forward to sharing with you.
The matching raincoats are very cute!
woo hoo!! we love mud season!
We do love us some mud here too!
Your boys are looking oh so handsome in their green slickers... which reminds me Owen grew out of his raincoat - must find one soon !
I love the green raincoats, and the poem!
I am loving the green! And what a wonderful quote! I saw the cutest polka dot rain boots at Target the other day, this pic is making me want to go back and buy them! :)
I just love the muddy season!
Where did you find the raincoats? I've looked everywhere for a boy's raincoat and the only ones I can find are pink and flowery.
I guess boys are suppose to just get wet around here:)
Very cute words; mud-luscious and puddle wonderful!
Um. Mud has it's own season?
~Tara
Ooooh we love mud! Don't get a ton of it but sure do enjoy it when we can~
Lovely quote~
:)
Tara -YES, mud surely does have its own season around here. Haven't heard of it? ;)

It is particularly commented upon by friends of ours who live on farms/rurally...mud mud mud mud mud!!!!
Oh - and "mud season" around here also means many city/county/state parks and trails close due to mud. When people hike/walk in the mud it trashes the trails, so when that happens, they close until it is dry for a while...a lot are closing here right now, and will stay closed for a few weeks!
Puddle stomping is always great entertainment! Glad to see you can enjoy.
Oh man, that looks like sooo much fun!!
Wow. That's crazy. It's so legit it has its own Wiki page! We rarely get mud, let along a season of it. Seriously make me doubt the whole WI thing my hubby is talking about. How do you keep your house clean during mud season? (Nevermind, it's probably not as bad as the dust we have year round.)
~Tara
Tara - It isn't bad at all, actually. We keep a mat by the front and back doors and leave our boots there...we do the same all winter with our snow boots. House doesn't get dirty at all! :)
Wisconsin, I hear? Anywhere in particular? Lots of good land here, for sure.
