shoulda woulda...
My big plan for this week was to post some favorite gardening books, my seeds list, and about my garden journal each day. Of course whenever there is a plan, things change.
My little asthma boy (G) got sick. We have been SO careful and had done a good job of keeping him away from those respiratory viruses for the past 8 weeks or so, but right after his big 'asthma specialist' appointment, well, it hit hard (of course). So we've spent our time with inhalers and nebulizers and humidifiers and snuggling on the couch reading books and telling silly stories and b.r.e.a.t.h.i.n.g.
So while everyone but me is (finally) asleep in this house, I know I "should" take these precious minutes to catch up on all the things I fell behind on for the past few days - blogging, work, volunteer stuff, responding to dozens of emails, finishing seed lists, kitchen cleanup. But I won't. This mom deserves a cider and a good magazine or two (or three). I'll catch up later.
Until then. Good night!

sounds good to me.
'nigh-night.
Oh, I know how exhausting it is to care for a little sick one like that, just from worrying! I hope he feels better soon. And certainly, enjoy your few quiet moments to yourself.
You deserve that and more. Enjoy your evening. I hope your little one feels better. Asthma is no fun. We have it here as well.
Oh Denise, I'm sorry. And sorry to G as well. Nic used to be on a nebulizer all the time.
I hope he recovers soon and life resumes normality! I'll be sending healing vibes your way...
wowzers...
hope breathing comes easier soon!
enjoy those magazines!!!
Good for you for taking a break! That's a great picture of your son! Hope he is feeling better soon!
Hugs to your sweet boy- and get well wishes too.
You forgot chocolate... you deserve some :)
There will be more time for seeds and gardens later. Focusing on your little ones breathing sounds like the right thing to be doing. My motto: "Thou shalt not should on yourself", should-ing only makes one feel insufficient. Take care of yourself~:)
Hang on! Enjoy your quiet time, gather strength, those seeds will wait!
There is just NEVER enough time. I ordered an additional seed catalog based on your list from the other day. One of the companies was out until next year. No surprise. Hopefully the catalogs that are MIA will show up soon. Still, I think that I have enough catalogs to get just what I envision.
Now, I must decide where to start another garden. I'm thinking ... south side of the garage! ;)
Those look like good magazines. I hope you enjoyed your cider and reading time. That must be so scary when your little guy has trouble with his asthma. My husband had asthma as a child and grew out of it- I hope that happens for your son.
Sorry to hear about the asthma! My sister and I had it when we were little and then grew out of it, but I remember my mom saying how scary it was to sit up with us at night listening to us breathe. But, as always, your little guys are so cute and photogenic even in the face of illness! Hope G is better soon!
You made the right choice! Mamas have to take care of themselves as well. Hope G is feeling better soon! Take care!
Oh! Sending healing thoughts to G.....feel better soon!
Good for you for taking some time....it's always a good thing to take care of yourself :)
Oh rats! I hope G is feeling better. No shame in taking care of Mama as well as the "babies"
Ah, that poor little guy! hope he's better soon...
LOVE the photos..looks like he's flying!
Heck yes, DO for YOU!
Healing thoughts to G.
Hope your little one is feeling better.
And you're right to take time to rest - everything else can wait :-)
So sorry about your little boy getting ill. Do you think he caught something AT the doctor's office then?? Isn't it the best place to catch something. I've taken my kids for a well visit, and 3 days later......sick. I wonder WHERE they caught something??
Yes, rest, flip the pages of a magzine, sip tea or anything else you want! You deserve it when there is time that can be YOURS!
I'll be praying for G!
Gee, I hope he's feeling better.
You really do need to take care of mamma too!
awww! poor G and poor Mom in Madison :) I hope the little guy feels better soon. Take care and big hugs to you all.
Well deserved...
I have tagged you for an award...check it out on my blog..xx
How are things?
I'm thinking about you all.
Healing and Blessings from me~
