Same here. Last year our forsythia was in full bloom on April 2nd. This year...nothing yet. Depressing or what? It's coming though. I'm trying SO hard to be patient. xo
I made the mistake of looking at garden pics from last April...by mid-April I had spinach, radishes, peas were flowering, lilacs starting to bloom. I even had currants budding!! I have stubs on my currants right now. My radishes haven't even poked up (even though I desperately planted seeds anyway). And the botanical garden was in full bloom (as in those pics). This week we went and there was nothing like that yet, just minimal budding. Sigh.
What a difference a few miles makes! We didn't get more than a dusting of snow in the last week, crazy! But I too was looking at last years pictures and the forsythia in bloom for Easter... not this year that's for sure!
J -- we always get more than the west side, but you usually get more than us. It was snowing pretty hard most of Tuesday. And of course Monday. And Saturday. 8=}
Over here, March can be still very wintery, or spring like already. April, though, it's always milder. Hope May will bring you flowers! Happy Easter weekend.
I'm thinking we are going from winter straight on to full-blown summer. It is frosty here this morning, and nothing is happening in the garden. Trying to keep my spirits positive!
Last year's early Spring was such a gift. Owen was swimming in the pond the first week in May! If he tried to do that this year I'm afraid he'd turn himself into a Popsicle!
When the blossoms come I'm sure they will be wonderful.
I recall, however, that last year we had a late freeze in May. I hope this means that we will have a warmer May without the frigid late May/ early June (we lost plants).
Oh my. It's hard to compare, isn't it? You poor things. I can imagine when spring truly comes for you there will be much hootin' and hollerin' :)
We are heading into winter here, but we won't ever have snow, and it's always fairly mild. (And I still complain!!) I hope warmth comes soon for you all. Can't wait to see the pics when it does!
Oh I know! We have similar comparison photos here, too. It hasn't warmed much here, either, but at least we didn't get that snow you guys just had, yuck. Wishing you warm spring days ahead!

I love the labels. :) Hopefully your snow will be gone soon so you can get on with gardening.
