winter sunshine.

In between all the deep cold and snow we have had glimpses of bright sunshine. There isn't anything quite as lovely as that frosty winter beaming off of white snow sunshine. It streams in our front windows and the boys immediately prepare for a beach party. Beach blanket, sunglasses, and lots of bare skin (check!) - and they lay in the sunshine, soaking it all up, chatting away.

Yes, it is.

One of my Very Favorite Things is sunlight streaming in though the window.
I can well understand their joy and celebration.

I love the sun streaming down on your boys faces!

When I moved to Madison right after going to college in Los Angeles, I made the mistake of thinking that even winter sun=warmth and strolled down State street in shorts in March- doh!

I love reading your blog, Denise, it reminds me so much of my beloved former home :).

Indoor beach party! How totally fun. I'm too much of a wimp in cold weather, no matter how warm it is inside, bare skin ain't gonna happen.

When we were in MO last Dec, we got to experience what you described. The sun would be so bright but it was so cold outside....us San Diegans had a hard time computing that!

Love the close-ups of the boys~

All that glorious light reflected in those big brown eyes- too cute!

It is still snowing here- started early this a.m.- maybe some sunshine will grace us tomorrow ;)

Love those beams of sunshine. Our cat lays in them, moving as they move. My son however just asks me to shut the curtains. Someday he will appreciate it more.

toasty little dudes!
we don't have enough south-facing windows in this house. Our next house...I think we'll have a whole wall of them!

We are having a sparkling blue day, which is dazzling us with diamonds all around. But we don't have the heat turned up quite enough for an indoor beach party!

Yeah, we don't keep our house too warm either...but on bright sunny days, they are good on a blanket for a bit basking! Our green built home is pretty decent at keeping the heat IN! :)

Oh I need to have a beach party every time the sun shines during this Michigan winter! Which is not very often.

Your blog is just absolutely beautiful. It captures all things childhood, not to mention Madison.
