Turn out. Take Action.
Be Part of this historic event.

"World Wildlife Fund is asking individuals, businesses, governments and organizations around the world to turn off their lights for one hour – Earth Hour – to make a global statement of concern about climate change and to demonstrate their commitment to finding solutions."
We did this last year as a family and plan to join in again this year. We did our hour last year from 7-8PM local time, as the boys usually fall asleep before 8:30. We turned off the lights, lit some candles, and played a board game and then the boys took a bath, got dressed in their PJs, read stories, and blew out candles to go to sleep. The thought that millions around the planet were doing the same thing we were, and the amount of energy we saved together in only one single hour was something we talked about for days. The boys liked it so much we have had more nights by candlelight, and enjoy the peace and quiet it brings.

COunt us in! Sounds like a great idea.
We'll join you.
We definitely will! We did it last time as well (on the eve of leaving for Ireland, no less) and it started a bi-monthly tradition of turning everything off for an hour to play board games by candlelight. Fun times & good for the earth!
I signed up too. What a cool idea! We have it marked on our calendar and are planning candlelight fun for the evening!
WE will be joining you again this year!
Thank you for the reminder!
Thanks Denise. We will definitely join in!
I'm going to go jot it down in my calendar now!
We'll be doing this too!
I think you're the one who got me interested in this last year, and it was fun. We'll be joining you again this year. The Earth Hour website has a great section for kids to look at.
We did it last year too, and we are signed up for this year. Thanks for the reminder, Denise. Blessings.

We used to do this EVERY sunday night and it would be fun to re-establish this old tradition.

We did this last year too, but I like your idea of doing it a little earlier. J was asleep too. We will definitely do this again this year.
We've signed up! We did this last year. Umm...not fun convincing teenagers to shut down for a hour!
sound like a great idea!
I tend to forget about it until after it's over. Thanks for the reminder!
Thanks for promoting Earth Hour! Another way you can recruit people to the cause is by creating a Earth Hour group on Commit21.com. Simply create a group about one action that you will commit to do for Earth Hour and recruit your friends, family, and co-workers to get involved in that action as well. When it comes to climate change, simple actions can make huge differences and Commit21 leverages social media to influence networks of friends, family, and co-workers. Check it out at www.commit21.com
