feels like fall.

Ever since the autumn equinox we have had sunny, warmish weather. Every day has been lovely, but hasn't felt like autumn. Today was cool and crisp, windy and ever changing. It felt just like fall. We dug out some fleeces and hats, put on warm pants and long sleeves, and hit one of our favorite wooded parks. This time of year we want to be surrounded by trees - so we can listen to the wind in the leaves and see the amazing colors.

Of course the boys also love this park not only for the trees, but because some of the equipment is made of WOOD. A more natural looking tower - perfect for forts and ships and adventures. They LOVE that.

I love fall. I am not a warm weather person at all and look forward to the colder air. It was so nice to stand bundled up, even cold enough that the boys asked for gloves (um, haven't dug them out yet!).

As they played the clouds rolled in, the skies darkened, and the wind picked up. The boys ran for the warmth of the car, fingers numb, noses and cheeks red. We drove to a local bakery for some sweet treats and warm drinks. A wonderful fall afternoon.

Tonight it is going to be 32ยบ - bye bye mosquitoes, and good night garden. Love it!

+++++

I take photos of the boys so often - and love seeing how much they change in my lens. Sometimes I am surprised by a shot, a face or look that makes one of them seem so different, so big. Today I took a photo of A when he was talking to his brother about something, and he had such a look. Yes, so different, so big. So amazing to watch, this big kid of mine.

I'm saying goodnight to my garden too. Actually, this year I have little winter garden (leaks and cabbage), but I don't have much hope as my garden area will be in the shade all winter long. Happy Fall!

Love your mozi's are moving on... but I fear they are traveling South!!! We call it a "face change" when they appear to grow into a different face over night!!! Have a fun weekend!!!

Lovely photos. they do grow so fast! I too was looking forward to autumn, then yesterday it was back to sunbathing temperatures again (in France)!

Oh My.... A. does look more like a young man and less like a boy.
They grow up too fast!! :0)

We are so happy to embrace the cool, colorful autumn weather and bid summer farewell.

It's finally starting to feel like fall down here, too. We woke up to the house being 76 degrees (we have the thermostat set to 78). The mosquitoes have mostly gone away and my husband is actually willing to do yard work again! The state parks are calling my name and I can't wait to visit the forests (without sweating to death).

I've been able to open the windows during the morning for the past few days but have had to close them by 3pm because it just gets so hot. Maybe by the end of the week I'll be able to leave them open all day! (:

Does this mean that I'm not the only one cringing when I see mid-70s in this week's forecast?! :)

I love the tone of these photos. Perfect for the season.

I know that feeling. I've noticed it the most with my oldest - he's not such a little boy anymore!

Francesca - I had started some winter goodies too, but my yard is mostly shade in winter too, so haven't put too much effort into it. Getting ready to start my indoor garden/greens/microgreens though!

eidolons - This is our favorite time of year for walking in the woods too!

Jodi - I know...I wish it would just stay cool. Below average and I'm pretty happy, but back into the 70s...not so much.

We are so happy with this weather too, and my aren't the boys looking big! I am going to enjoy every moment of this sweater-not-quite-jacket weather.

It's been SO hot here. I'm hoping it cools off like they say it's supposed to. So far it just rained a bit this morning and made a muggy mess out of the day!

I love these pictures! Wish I had those kind of photography skills. Where are our cooler temperatures? I thought I moved to Wisconsin?!! So ready for cooler days.
