We've been waiting...

We've been waiting over six months for this. A whole day of sunshine, blue skies, and t-shirt warm weather. Today was 63º and sunny. Perfect for being OUTSIDE!!

Our friends joined us today for a farm outing - we all packed into our van and headed out to a friends farm for a visit.

The boys got to see the new little chicks and hold them. Verrrry exciting.

They threw sticks for the dogs, and visited the hen house to see if there were any fresh eggs.

We were able to see bees in a box who were getting ready to go into their new hive home. And, they tried on the bee hat/netting and gloves. Can't beat that.

The day was so full of being outside - casting practice, visiting the farm, playing at a park, blowing bubbles, working in the garden, reading books in the sunshine. Tonight, two exhausted boys climbed out of the bathtub, barely able to keep their eyes open. As he was putting on his pajamas, A sighed and said, "I wish every day was like today." Thank you, spring (and Jessie!).

What a benediction! The only benediction! To wish for what one already has.

You are a magnificent mother.

Aw what an awesome way to feel as you head for bed; that everything is perfect! :)

I hope your outdorsy kinda weather sticks around. We keep fluctuating between 80 one day and 50 the next! Anything to put off the het is fine by me, though.

Lots of fun!

We used to have bees. We still have all our bee gear. Hubby became allergic to them and we're nervous to have them again...but we're thinking about trying again. It's lots of fun. We used to have bees in Anchorage (can you not have them in Madison?).

It really was a glorious day! I spent most of mine on my hands and knees weeding! LOL!

Thanks for the tip about the gardening store in Madison. I hope to make the journey to Madison soon and I'll definitely check it out!

Wow, my girls have been asking to visit a beehive lately. We have a few friends who keep hives but I have never been over to check out how they do it. Sounds like a great day!

Its kind of a variation on a theme this morning... many of the favorite blogs I read are enjoying the outside.... sunshine is so very delicious!

The expressions on the boy's faces say it all....
