For the winter we have started a weekly Friday morning ritual - we meet my mom for breakfast at a local cafe. The boys
love getting out to see grandma. It is a nice way to catch up each week - otherwise we don't see each other much (she's a very busy lady!)!
We have breakfast, chit-chat, and spend some time together. After a while the boys get silly.
A little while later grandma gets silly too. Lots of fun and a nice way to spend a freezing Friday morning!

These are great photos, love the faces! What a nice way to spend friday morning :)
She is a beautiful woman. You are lucky to have her living close!
You guys are so lucky! Our grandmas are all at least 12 hours away. Your mom is so beautiful -- I hope my hair goes white like hers :-)
Your Mom looks very cool! And how nice for the boys to be able to connect with her regularly.
Their grandma is very cute and modern looking, I love it!
what a great ritual...and with grandma even better...very capturing moments for sure! :)
great photos. you guys are so lucky to have grandma so close. my boys really long to see their nana minh (my husbands mother), but they only get to interact over the phone.
and yes, your mother is beautiful. she sort of reminds me of annie lennox. especially around the eyes.
I see the apple doesn't fall far from the tree... your Mom is beautiful :)
What a nice ritual. Owen has been missing his "Nana" since we moved.
What a beautiful grandma, and it's lovely that the boys have a day they'll know they'll see her.
Oh, these are the precious moments that no money could make up for missing!
For a long while, the Chem Geek Princess and I had the ritual of Saturday morning coffee at the breakfast table or on the porch. Lately, she's been too busy working on her house. We'll have to revive it when she gets back from London.
It's so nice to have extended family near by....
We miss that here in Alaska-everyone is back east. Your ritual will make such an impact on your boys. They will remember it always and hopefully keep the friday breakfast going when they have kids!
We can't wait for grandma to visit in January!
