Click!

I am a lucky mama. My sweet boys (and their dad) got me a ridiculous (in a good way) Mother's Day gift. I love taking photos, and my camera was just so done. But I don't like buying stuff for myself unless I have used the old well. And I really had. My lovely old digital camera, which was a great camera in 2001 (!) when I got it, was SO insanely slow. The lens cap ring had popped off long ago. The grip rubber was gone. If it sat *just* so in the bag the lens moved, and I had to hold it at just the right angle to hear the little zoom slide back into place so the camera could focus. I really got good use out of that old camera, though.

SO yesterday I was very happy and surprised to see a new camera. Today as the boys were outside I played and experimented with it a bit. The bonus of having a new camera is that the boys let me take pictures of them all day. New and exciting and they were involved.

They even SMILED for me! And as they zoomed by, I could click click click and keep up. Amazing.

Great minds think alike!! My husband surprised me with a new digital camera for Mother's Day too. Of course he shouldn't have done it... but I'm oh so glad he did :)
I'm still figuring out how to use it - I tried to download photos last night and nearly deleted them all by mistake.
Have lots of fun taking pics of the boys!!
Happy Mom's Day.

How exciting to get a new camera! I would have never guessed that you had so many problems with your old camera though...you always have such beautiful pictures. Being able to take pictures quickly is important with kids :) so that's great that you new one can do the job.

I second dawn's comment - I never would have guessed that you didn't have a great camera. How do you get all those great macro shots?

Thanks! :) I still liked the quality of photos from the old camera, but it was just falling apart and super slow. It had a nice 10X optical zoom on it, so was nice for the macro shots.

Of course, now with a standard lens on the new camera, I cannot get quite so close until I get a second zoom lens (or unless I get REALLY close!), but love the speed and clarity of the images! :)
