Sometimes weekends just fly by. This was one of those weekends. G must be in a growth spurt, as his sleep schedule is out of whack and he is getting very cranky in the afternoons. So we pulled back some plans and did more go with the flow close to home.
There was still a lot of fun. A holiday train show, karate, crafting,
botanical garden, making
lots of goodies in the kitchen,
a tree farm visit, family movie night,
snow fort building (before the big melt),
and spending lots of time together.
*Just* busy enough that I managed to procrastinate most of my weekend cleaning! Well, sorta. But some weekends
any excuse is good enough to put that off! ;)
Hope you had a nice weekend!
Sounds very fun!
ReplyDeleteThat amount of snow is leaving me a bit speechless! Your boys must have had a blast!
ReplyDeletesounds lovely. just busy enough, but not too busy.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice, relaxing, but full weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat's pulling back?! That's more than we do in a month. But of course, you are in the wonderful city of Madison where it's all practically at your fingertips. Sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteThe shot of G looking up and the team of horses were both especially stunning. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe did have a great weekend! And I hear ya on the procrastination thing!
ReplyDelete"No, gotta make x-mas gifts FIRST!"
I love those horses. I'm looking into a sleigh ride or carriage ride in town for the girls. Brings back that New Englandy feel to Anchorage!
I procrastinated on ALL my cleaning this weekend, and I'm paying for it today. ;) Your weekend sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! It looks like you are enjoying every wonderful holiday moment!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun weekend!

ReplyDeleteGreat weekend, I just love (licking lips) Carmel corn!
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat those horses must of been!
Oooh! Where is that tree farm! That looks great! I live near Madison and would love to check that out. You have the best ideas!
ReplyDeleteIt is Millers Tree Farm in Rio (NE of Madison). Not a bad drive if you are on the E/NE side of town. The horses are there on weekends to take you out through the farm. They have a Santa in the barn. Apple cider/cocoa/cookies in the shop. (Spunky) ponies. Hiking trails and lots of acreage to roam. My boys just wanted to see the horses and get lots of candy canes. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that last photo...what a cozy corner for two sweeties!
ReplyDeleteWe had a verrrry lazy weekend. It was the snowstorm's fault, really.
What a nice weekend...housework can wait when memories are being made : )
ReplyDeleteWhat a WONDERFUL December weekend! Could it get any more perfect? You're already building FORTS?! We're so snow-deprived!!! Have a blast, guys! We're so jealous!
ReplyDeleteI meant to clean this last weekend, but it just didn't happen.
ReplyDeleteI thought maybe I'd get it done today instead ... Ummm, yeah, about that ... ;)

ReplyDeleteI just have one question, Denise, Do you have more hours in the day down there than we do!!! I don't know how you do so many things in just one weekend!!! you are amazing!!! I want to be one of your kids!!!
