under the weather.

I have a sick little boy and a husband who keeps moving (and therefore crashing) my iPhoto. Too much for one week. :) G and I have been crafting up a storm with all of the one on one time we are having while big brother is watching movies and listening to books on CD to distract him from feeling so horribly cruddy. So, once my iPhoto is back up and I can download photos from my camera once again, we'll have lots of fun to share!

Can you believe it is almost mid-September already? I have a birthday coming in a few days (and an anniversary) - just doesn't seem like another whole year has passed. Wow.

  1. I have a sick one too...it's odd since both the kids are super healthy and we really are never sick (knock on wood). It's nice when they are older because she keeps herself busy with things like reading, playing sudoku and listening to music. Looking forward to the crafty shots!

  2. Sorry you have a sick boy :(

I know it is September only because it was 47 degrees here this morning and we still have not installed the wood stove ! Brrrrr.

  4. Sorry to hear A is not feeling well. Hope he feels better soon! Noah was complaining of a headache yesterday and into the night. No fever though. I'm thinking the paint fumes might be bothering him. Thank goodness we are almost done.

Happy pre-Birthday and Anniversary to you! Enjoy!!!

  5. anet - Oh, poor guy, I can imagine! I have bad allergies to regular paint and cannot be in a room which has been painted with 'normal' paint for a few months without getting horrible migraines. If we paint we can only use the no VOC/no fume paints.

    Thanks LisaZ!

Tara - I can imagine! It has gotten to the 40s at night here lately too...bye, bye tomatoes! Hope you get that wood stove in soon then.

Dawn - yeah, us too. We get sick rarely. I saw this one coming - during karate class a boy was sneezing ON the kids and floor, wiping his nose on everything (I was actually cringing noticeably each time and another mom said, wow, he should NOT be here), and as the kid was leaving he was telling his mom his throat hurt, he was snotty, and his eyes were burning and he couldn't breathe, and she said I know, I know (all impatient), we are going to pick up your medicine right now. ???? HUH???? U.n.b.e.l.i.e.v.a.b.l.e. Crossing fingers that asthma boy doesn't get it, because this is a throat/lungs/no breathing thing and it would take him out for awhile. :( Hope your little one feels better soon...

  6. I hope your oldest is feeling better soon. That's awful, the way he caught it at karate class from someone else who shouldn't have been there! I'm sending you warm wishes for a happy and healthy anniversary and birthday.

  7. Oh that really is one of the joys of karate. I don't know if this is universal but Zoe's class always ended their session but shaking hands and bowing to everyone in attendance. She soon learned to head straight for the bathroom afterwards to wash her hands.
I hope he is feeling better soon and that you have a GREAT birthday and anniversary.

  8. Thanks Dawn.

Sharon, yeah, we do the hand nuking right away everywhere we go (esp. that day) but the kid was sneezing directly ON kids throughout the class- blech.

  9. I hauled out the Greens+ and the probiotics in preparation for the cold weather a couple of days ago, what with all these cool nights we've been getting. it sucks when someone is sick, doesn't it?

How much has your iPhoto been able to hold? Mine is really dragging its heels lately, and I'm wondering if I should - gasp - clear it up a bit.

  10. sheila-Right now my iPhoto library is at 35 GB (huge, I know!). We moved it to a network drive to free up some space and speed it up, but it kept corrupting the images upon editing, so then it was moved to a drive directly plugged into my computer, and we are trying to convince it to work that way now. I do extract and backup all of my older photos, but I do keep about a year and a half in the library at a time.

I hope A feels better soon! It certainly is getting autumnish here...sometimes I think the cool mornings/hot afternoons sometimes confuse our bodies and we just get sick more. Or maybe it's just that kids get together indoors more (school, karate class, etc.)

Or, as some people might say, maybe we need to clear out accumulated gunk to get ready for winter :-)
