Motivation.
While we have had much going on I have been feeling a bit uninspired. I usually feel that way this time of year. Many projects, lots to do, spring is coming, but the energy just isn't quite there yet for me.
To help get my motivation rolling, I have been working on organizing, sorting, cleaning and focusing on making our home cozy and inviting. I'm always pretty anal about general clean, but it is the little details that make the difference. I am also a furniture mover. I have to move furniture around every few months so I can clean under stuff, and also so that things look interesting, different. We re-arranged several rooms over the last week which just makes everything seem fresh. Ahhh.
Today I organized some of our new supplies. We have some fun creative projects planned for the next few weeks building into spring. For each project I like to bag all of the materials together so I can just grab it and go when we are ready. Craft projects, holiday cards, nature table items, science fun...you name it, bagged and ready.
I think I'm feeling more motivated already!
I too am a cleaner and a mover and an organizer. Mostly I keep things simplified...in a house with 7 people and all thier pets! lol
ReplyDeleteWOW! you are incredibly organised. how do you find the time?
ReplyDeletei am just barely able to get my daily chores done much less organise and re-arrange furniture on top of that.
That is a bunch of crafty goodness on your table! I was just looking for some wooden eggs the other day.
ReplyDeleteI love to move things around, re-organize closets and drawers in the Spring too.
I love the idea of putting upcoming craft project supplies together in bags. I wish I could spend today rearranging and organizing my house.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly where I am, I feel the spring busy-ness pushing its way, but where is my energy? I also feel like I have lost some motivation with homeschooling, all I want to do is play and, like you I have been cleaning and rearranging things. So, for now, mostly schooling consists of armfuls of books from the library, visits to friends and museums, and long walks in the woods.
ReplyDeleteIts a great idea to organize your crafts this way, I sort of do things by sorting them into baskets, but its good to put them in plastic bags because the mice love bits of yarn and roving and beeswax and all those other natural "Waldorfy" type things.
:)
It felt good to hear you and lisa anne mention that you are ready for spring but the motivation hasn't caught up....I thought it was me! Today I forced myself to MOVE. Love the organizing idea...makes it simple to grab a craft and go!
ReplyDeleteHow about an easy little meme to inspire you? I've just tagged you if you feel like doing it, but no worries if you don't ;)
ReplyDeleteAmen. I'm totally with you. Too much to do, not enough energy. Looks like you're snapping out of it a bit - inspiring! And the sunprint paper! One of my favorite discoveries as a kid. Have fun with that!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your spring projects!
ReplyDeleteMMMMMMMMM, yummy crafty lurrrrrve! Xxx.
ReplyDeleteI love your idea of bundling the project supplies together before hand. We'll have to try that. It looks like you have lots of fun craftiness ahead.
ReplyDeleteI'm a furniture re-arranger, too. My husband thinks it's kind of nutty but I love it.
