Warmth.

What glorious warm, sunny days. Days of raking, shoveling, digging, clipping, mulching, creating new plant beds, cleaning up the old ones. I love yard work, and I like the familiar ache of working in the garden - sore feet, knees, back, neck, shoulders, arms.

For the boys, the warmth means hours outside each day - playing and digging and and hauling rocks and looking for bugs and just being kids. Things have been dragged out into the yard that haven't seen the sun in months. Trucks, balls, tables, scooters, shovels. The days of sun have dried up the squishy muck and created a nice dry yard with some patches of green, so by today we all ended up barefooted again - which, after a long winter, is a decadent feeling.

The hours of running and climbing and playing mean extra tired boys. Well, tired boys AND tired mom. We are active in the cold months, but it is never quite like the first burst into spring. Tomorrow, it rains. While I love the yard work and the play in the warm sun, I also look forward to a day inside with books, baking, and a great craft project!

"Decadent" says it all! I can't get enough of these early warm days. Enjoy the dirt on your hands and the wind in your hair.

I can just smell the dirt baking in the sun. Happy Boys!

Sounds heavenly. We, too, are spending more time out enjoying the garden. It'll be a year or two til my little one is happy to let Mom work in the garden for more than twenty minutes at a time, but I'm slowly reclaiming the flowerbeds!

My children are also exhausted and last night couldn't understand why because they are going to bed earlier and getting up at the same time. I explained that they are constantly outside biking, running, etc., and they started to get it.

Owen spent all weekend outside- playing in his Grammy's pond. Needless to say he was tuckered out!
Sometimes you just need a rainy day to catch up.
Happy crafting!

Yay Spring! Can't say I enjoy those aches and pains of gardening, mostly my back! We have had warm weather for well over a week, but no rain! We are already having to water in our garden, it is very alarming, not only that but no time indoors for me. Sunday morning I forced myself to mop the kitchen floor but I have piles of books in every room b/c I have no time to deal with it, well I guess I could get off the computer and deal with a few of those piles.....
HA! word verification: nvrnf (never enough!:)

I love that feeling you describe- that ache from spending a lot of time gardening. My kids have been sleeping well from playing outside also. Spring is such a fun time of year. Enjoy your rainy day with crafts and books inside :)

Wonderful! We got an early spring snowstorm and it is -8 as I type this. The wind could blow me off my feet. I long for spring...real spring.

I'm not normally much of a gardening person, but after our long winter I'm thinking it sounds kinda nice. :)

We were thinking of getting the sandbox toys out for Kayla this weekend.

Spring is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
